Never stop exploring

About us

Hi! We’re Jake and Emmali. Our first date was a spontaneous ski trip to Colorado in 2019. We’ve been seeking adventures throughout the country and the world looking for new heights. Join us as we continue our journey around the world!

We love any adventure, but particularly those at altitude – both above and below sea level. Some of our favorites are skiing, hiking, mountaineering, and SCUBA diving. We’ll post stories from these activities and more. We’ll also share our favorite gear and trip planning advice. We’re happy to answer any questions you have about what goes on behind the scenes of our adventures. Feel free to reach out!

The Altitude Numbers

What does altitude mean to us and why do we have those funny looking numbers at the start of our blog posts?

Our attitude on calculating altitude is evident in the beginning of every post. The sum of the two numbers will always be the total highest elevation of altitude that we achieved during the activity. The first number is the “base” elevation, usually the surrounding ground or bottom of the mountain. The second number is the “gain” or prominence of the location or activity. For any below ground activities, such as scuba diving, the gain will be negative. Watch for these to track our journeys up and down!

Current Travels

We’re currently setting off on an extended adventure. We started in the US visiting, Florida, Hawaii, Colorado, and Wisconsin. Then we’re heading to Eastern Asia. Our travel plan includes Japan, Philippines, Nepal, and Thailand as well as a few other countries. Is there anywhere you consider a must see? Please reach out and let us know! You’ll also see articles from some of our past adventures. We’ve skied much of the US, gone SCUBA diving in unusual locations, climbed Mount Hood, and spent time in Patagonia and Antarctica.
