One of the highlights of our time on Maui was multiple (sometimes two in one day) visits to Peace Love Shave Ice, a small, vibrant shop that truly embodies the Spirit of Aloha. It’s an unassuming little shave ice stand in the middle of a mall parking lot in Kihei, but there’s so much more behind it.
Customers are greeted with the genuine warmth and friendliness of the employees. Each one greeted us with a smile, and inquired about our day as if we were old friends. They were excited to help us navigate their menu and share their recommendations. It was laid-back, full of good vibes, and made it easy to forget you were in a mall parking lot.
Peace Love Shave Ice uses only all-natural ingredients in their syrups, ensuring that each flavor is fresh and delicious. No high fructose corn syrup to be found. Each time we went, we tried a new flavor combination, trying to find the perfect one.
Jake’s favorite was strawberry and root beer and mine was mango and passion fruit. As we watched them carefully shave the ice, pack it in, and drizzle the delicious syrups, our mouths began to water in anticipation. With each bite, we could taste the care and passion that went into every order, making it clear that Peace Love Shave Ice wasn’t just serving dessert—it was sharing a piece of their aloha spirit with each and every customer.
